Ha! Just kidding! Real talk, I’m grateful for the clickthrough and that you’re interested in learning more about what this all is, so, here’s tea:
Rx MindBodySoul Is…
A short, sweet, simple, and sustainable way to intentionally spend time positively feeding our mind (and mindsets) through affirmations, moving our body (physical health) through daily movement, and checking in with our soul (spirit) through daily journaling over time.
Word on the curb is most of us could be doing a little better, if only… from mindsets to exercise to self-awareness and follow-through on goals… if only we had a little more time, a little more money, a little more motivation, a little more support, a little more energy to get started or to even try. Truth is, what we really need is to make the decision, make friends with discipline, and start. Consider this the dose to jumpstart the journey.
Who’s it for?
This has been carefully crafted for anyone who is interested in dabbling in,
1- the practice of positive thinking/positive self-talk and it’s impact on mindset, self-esteem, and behaviors,
2- starting/enhancing/supplementing their exercise/body movement for improved mood, emotions management, and the various other health benefits. It’s beginner-friendly and there’s room to grow (and we will),
3- creating a daily practice of self-reflection, introspection, and reframing via journaling,
4- doing this alongside a digital - and hopefully IRL - community of folks also dedicated to intentionally taking the time to care for their mind, body, and soul.
What to expect:
A weekly email delivered on Sunday evenings where you’ll find:
1- an affirmation to take into each week,
2- a quick warmup, a short exercise routine (think ~5 min), and a cool down stretch using only your body weight,
3- 3 questions to reflect on each evening (yes, they will be the same) and a bonus action item for the week (yes, they will be different), and
4- maybe some extra content/inspo/recs/funnies just to spice it up on a nanigans chat and/or fun on instagram???
And why this?
Several somebodies in multiple somewheres said there were many benefits to nurturing our mind, body, and soul. Per the interwebs, here are just a few of those benefits (seen over time with consistency, of course): reduced stress, improved attitude, reduced negative self-talk, better sleep, increased self-awareness, and better managed emotions. There are many ways to go about this and IMO, I’ve created one that is accessible and fun! By starting small (and keeping it cute), it makes it doable and digestible. We can make things really big and really scary, but developing a practice to take care of ourselves shouldn’t be. It’s not rocket science… just physical and social sciences hehe, and no matter what science it is, we know it’s a really good thing to do.
And what do I need?
Truly, just yourself, a little bit of space (stand up, stretch your arms out wide, and turn in a full circle… that much room), whatever device you’re reading this from, and a willingness to try and try again (as needed).
If you want a little extra, you can cop some light weights, find your headphones/a speaker, and/or a journal or notebook if you’re #teamcalligraphy and want to work out your handwriting too.
So, how do I sign up?
A disclaimer:
While I am quite literally licensed to provide therapy and (almost) certified as a personal trainer (we’re loading), this is neither therapy nor personal training. This is prompts and action items geared toward nurturing the mind, body, and soul. I’m a therapist, but not your therapist (unless I am), so any distressing mental, emotional, or social issues should be addressed one on one or in a therapeutic group setting with a(nother) professional (holla at me if you need a connect). And, as a personal trainer to be, you can think of me as the trainer-in-training (for now), but working one-on-one with a certified personal trainer will be a vastly different experience. Consult your doctor as needed to ensure your participation won’t put you at risk. Here, we are elevating our daily habits, getting our feet wet in discipline, and building momentum to see mental, physical, and goals progress over time. Consistency over intensity. Progress over perfection. You can always pour into yourself a little more as you see fit and this is meant to make the start that much easier… we all love a healthy mind, body, and soul.
